Friday Night Hangouts: Filmmaking Workshop for Beginners

Friday Night Hangouts will be having a SPECIAL filmmaking workshop for beginners! This is your chance to begin learning about how to use your camera and write a story. You will learn the basic functions of a camera, as well as different shot sequences, and storytelling structure.
Feel free to bring your DSLRs, and don't forget to bring your smartphones!
The workshop will be taught by MFA candidate Nawal Salim. Nawal was the founder of "Greenlight Productions," a Muslim Dramatic Arts organization at York University. She has worked with MuslimFest as the Rising Talent Coordinator for two years and is currently the content developer at DawaNet. She has a BA in English and Professional Writing from York University and is now working to obtain her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Documentary Media at Ryerson University.
