About the Instructor:
Omar Zia is an Educator working with the Peel School Board, in Ontario, Canada. He is a well-known Khatib and lecturer in Toronto. He holds a B.Sc., B.Ed. (Science/English) and a Master of Education degree.
Br. Omar Zia currently works as the Curricular Head of Student Services: Guidance Counsellor, Student Success Site Coordinator and Special Education Services Program Coordinator, at TL Kennedy SS with the Peel District School Board
Previously he has been a Department Head of ESL & Special Ed, Cross-Curricular Literacy Head, and an English Head. He has also served as the Principal of Bramalea Night School for a few years.
Br. Omar had the honour of studying Islam under numerous well-known Muslim scholars in the Toronto area. He has been running popular youth halaqas and parenting workshops at Understanding Islam Academy for several years now.
