Position: Office Administrator

Reports to: Executive Director

Hours: 20-30 hours/per week

Duration: Part-time, Permanent

Compensation: Negotiable

Location: 2-2570 Haines Rd., Mississauga, ON

 

Job Description: 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Office Administrator will work closely with all DawaNet project divisions ensuring that all DawaNet administrative tasks are completed in an efficient and timely manner. He/She will coordinate office activities and operations with compliance to company policies, keep stock of office supplies and place orders when necessary, plan for events, liaise between staff, clients and teachers, and supervise workshops, and programs. The ideal candidate will be competent in prioritizing and working with little supervision. They must be self-motivated and trustworthy

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage phone calls and correspondence (e-mail, letters, packages, etc.)
  • Track office supplies and place orders when necessary
  • Plan, execute and supervise events with colleagues 
  • Act as the primary liaison between the organization, staff, speakers, and teachers/instructors, providing information, answering questions, and responding to requests
  • Create, update, track, and maintain records and databases with client-personnel, financial, etc.
  • Assist colleagues with any task whenever necessary
  • Assist in cash management (i.e. course/workshop payments, donations, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • The applicant will be a team player with positive energy and:
  • Has or is pursuing post-secondary education 
  • Has proven experience as an office administrator, office assistant or relevant role
  • Has excellent knowledge of MS Office (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Has proficient knowledge of Google Drive

  • Ability to communicate effectively both through verbal and written communication
  • Good listening skills and self-motivated
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Google Drive and social media sites

  • Comfortable handling confidential information
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations in a calm and professional manner
